My heart twists and turns for the one I still love

My heart twists and turns for the one I love,
I know I should let go, but it's truly hard to do so,
You were there for me when I needed you most,
But as time goes by, I feel like a ghost.

I call for you and ask for you but you still don't respond,
And now, I understand what is wrong,
I love you and you loved me,
And I understand that we cannot be......
I will remember what you have done for me,
All those days I spent loathing for you,
Because I wanted to be with you.
I think what you have done for me,
The day at the carnival, the last day of school,
I always thought I couldn't live without you,
Then the day of the dance and everything else,
All the right and all the wrong, but sadly after all,
I will still love you above all,

But I slowly let go because, I know, I know
You will break my heart even more so,
But, just know, you will always be on my mind,
Ha, man were you so kind, to me and only me....
I guess that's why I always thought you were mine,....
Was that such a horrific crime?
