What About Now?

by Daylight Lucidity   Aug 21, 2013

You said you talked and thought about me,
You said you missed me, wanted me in every way;
Have you not realized that I've dwelled on the memory of us constantly,
Or did that fail to escape these trembling, tear-drenched lips of mine?

You told me you loved me,
You claim you still care,
It's been eight months since we've talked,
And I know you were always there.

Do you recall, my dear friend, when you broke my heart,
Or do you still want to deny that fact?
Was I truly not good enough for you from the start,
Or was that, too, a lie that fell from your delicate lips and into my lap?

I'm waiting for that attempt,
The one to try to make me yours yet again,
The fourth time is not the charm
You cloudy-eyed girl; you caused me too much pain.

You ask if I loved you, yes I did.
You ask if I cared, yes I did.
You ask if I miss us, at one point, I did.

You ask what about now?

My answer will forever be no.
