Thundering Thoughts

by Daylight Lucidity   Aug 27, 2013

My mind, one sometimes placid and void of sound,
Though is capable of chaotic suggestions and answerless questions,
Thunders loud and clear on an otherwise stormy night.

The rain pounding on the windows,
The glass clanking under the sharp projectile drops,
Hushes my inner worry though it booms
And screams on in a heart fragile and unsteady.

As the storm grows stronger with each hour
My thundering thoughts claim my attention,
Whispering yet shouting to me a secret I can never truly hear
No matter how my ears strain to capture the words.

My heart worries it is something vital, something I need to understand
But my mind shuts itself off to the possibility,
Leaving those thundering thoughts to parade around in the stormy night;

Rendering me a lost girl in her own little world,
Waiting until the storm subsides to listen to the secret
She never really wants to know,
One about herself.
