Velvet Voice

by Daylight Lucidity   Aug 30, 2013

How is it that your voice,
Through all the cruelty and
Stinging hate,
Consumes my every thought?
I could sit there for hours
Just listening to you
Rage on and on.
Is it because I am bound by your
Devilish stare,
Or is it because deep down,
I believe this to be a love
Stronger than your cruel
Accusations and the coldness
That falls off your tongue,
Searing my heart and soul
As it hits like a blow to my
Already emotionally bruised
Face.
Is this more than your abusive tone,
Is it a love stronger than the despair
That fills my sobs as you
Scream at me?
Or am I a fool, hopelessly devoted to an
Infatuation?

Do I stay merely because of that angelic
Ring of your
Velvet voice?
Or are we truly more than we seem?
