Two Can keep A Secret If Both Are Dead

by CarnivorousCoffin   Sep 7, 2013

Two bruised teens sit on a bench
One can't breathe
The other lives to bleed
The first, broken to many
The second, trusted by plenty
He feels tired and weak
Barely able to stand, struggles to speak
Controlled by anger and pain,
Nothing for him to gain
She's on the edge
Ready for the end
Steering into depths of red
Hides her remedy under her bed
Both can't cope without the other
Both scream and think "Why bother."
If he hadn't turned around
He'd be six feet under
No pulse, nothing but rain and thunder
If she hadn't read the label,
She'd be face down in her pillow
Wondering where she went wrong
But through all of this...
It just proved they were both strong

I took this title to the poem wrong, because i figured it had something to do with pretty little liars and i almost did not read but it also sort of caught my curiosity.

I love how you used both a male, and female in this poem. It seems like they both went through so much and they both wanted a way out. which is completely understandable depending on what one goes through at home.

The ending of this is my favorite because it shows how you can easily overcome anything that you put your mind to and in my opinion, it takes an extremely strong person to really capture the reader and make them want to read more.

    This is an amazing write.
