How To Forget

by edy   Sep 17, 2013

Another morning alone
The sun rising backwards
The moon rising upside down
This is my world
Since you have been gone; I look in the mirror an implanted frown

Alone and lost
Blind but can see
Walking but lifeless
Do you see me?

The words I need
A simple hello
A simple how are you
Or a reason as to why you let me go

So lost in love
Lost in translation
Lost in this world
Lost in temptation

Tempted to fight
Tempted to forget
Tempted to remember
Tempted to regret

How I never loved you
The way I should
Or maybe it was just you
The reason I could....

I could wake up and move a mountain each and everyday
I could wake up and lead the way
I could wake up knowing I'll always stay
But then you were gone

The words I need
A simple hello
A simple how are you
Or a reason as to why you let me go

It's been only a week
Since you left me
It's felt like a lifetime and a century ago
The last I love you
Who would have known ...

Couldn't win your heart
Couldn't win your soul
Couldn't win your touch
Couldn't maintain control

I gave you my all
I gave me to you
I gave you my soul
Why did you go?

I stand in this world alone as can be
Thinking of how you could do this to me
After all of the love, all of tears, all of the joy, all of these years

But life goes on, a second at a time
I just wish the seconds didn't freeze my life
But I must be strong, how could this be
A love nearly perfect, yet you have left me.
