Hearts Divided

by Lance Hardy   Sep 29, 2013

He stands there alone
Waiting by that stupid phone
Wishing for a simple solace
Never granted, only wanted

She lies there astray
Dreaming only another day
Of other men and other pleasures
Wanting only another measure

With great furvor he arises
Unassure to what desire
Nothing solid, nothing sure
Only mindset, but to endure

She turns over, but aroused
Thoughts of greatness and of clouds
Her only eye towards the future
Uncaring of current demeanor

He finds his way upon a vine
Climbing steadily, but so divine
His mind has left so alone
Kept on a task like as a drone

Finally, that's it
She thinks she's there
But there he is, just at a stare
One wrong move away
From the crimson, entangling web of despair
