Together

by Marky   Oct 2, 2013

Still the waves lap against the shore,
Youth of a girl and boy just like before.
promise of a better life,
promise of a life.

Worlds collide,
With the power times two,
Uncertain, but always seeking,
that final moment meeting.

Together.

It washes over me,
rain all over like it should be.
Shadows cloud over the boy waiting,
wanting wishing praying,

Running off the surface of my life,
escape to something safe,
desire echoes from the girl,
while hormones and dreams twirl.

Together.

Lying on a bed with cables attached,
plugged into a machine with mind detached.
trying to find a heartbeat that isn't broken,
but the doctors see the result that shouldn't be spoken.

Never on the same page, same time,
Loss so deep you should have been mine,
Rip, slash, tore
We've been here before.

Together.

Act four and you took the stage,
timeless smile a mask that'll never age.
You've grown so much,
but your heart I'll never touch.

And you'll stay young and free,
so long as I live and breathe,
You won't succumb to all my poison too,
the boy you forgot who breathes for you.

Apart.

Credit, Ari. Such raw creation. Just had to try to emulate it. Beautiful.
