In-laws

by Gary R Priester   Oct 13, 2013

Who are these people?
Forced into our lives
We didn't marry them
We married our husbands or wives
But now we have in-laws
As part of our lives
New fathers new mothers
New sisters new brothers
New aunts and uncles
Our family just doubled in size
But wait!
Could there be a good side?
We'll
More presents at Christmas
That's good in my eyes
More people to depend on
When there's stress in our lives
More people to learn from
I'd say that's wise
More food at Thanksgiving
Oh No! That wont help my thighs
More hugs and kisses
What a pleasant surprise
So who are these people
That enrich our lives
Why they are now family
And a wonderful prize

Inspired by a visit from my sister in-law
