Love, No Thank You

by IzL   Oct 18, 2013

He saw the stars across space
when he shook my mothers hand
He knew at once "She's the one!"
The girl that he would spend time with for the rest of his days

She fell in love as so did he
and so they married
beyond the bonds of death they said

Two decades later
Communication dwindling,
Humiliations at the peak
Hidden tears
Hurtful words

Hang on, back up...you said you saw the stars...
The spark in her eye is long gone
You and her are now so far

You call this a marriage? Put your act on...

If this is the true love you describe all the time
Then I don't want it...
Take it and feed it to her ears,
Shes the only one that's listening to that stupid little rhyme
