Fireflies

by Forever Hers   Oct 26, 2013

Distant smiles tell of a moment
Where she is lost in a world
Behind her eyes
That none can see, that none can touch.
It is a world that only she explores,
Where her deepest desires, her fantasies,
Are able to roam without fear
Of someone's disapproving sneer.
A world that brings happiness
That rings in her soft laugh,
One that brightens her jewel eyes
Like the most precious fireflies.
It is a world I wonder about,
When her gaze becomes miles away;
I wonder where she escapes to that makes those eyes
So brilliantly lit by mental fireflies.

    I seem to always be drawn to this poem Brittany. So that says a lot lol. Anyway I loved the way you wrote this. I think what you mean at the start of this is that you are lost or daydreaming or just dreaming while looking into someones eyes or behind them. Anyway. I think when you get lost in true beauty you fall in love and get to see inside their heart and soul. This is one of the best feelings in the world. You get lost in this world that only you two are in. Though the real world judges you, you feel no fear or hurt when you get lost with your true love. I loved the way you describe this person's eyes and laugh. You make it seem they have a heart of an angel and a laugh that is beauty to your ears. Like the ringing of a soft bell. I like the connection between her eyes and laugh. I think you say she laughs with joy and that makes the rest of soft and light. I loved this poem Brittany like wow. It makes my heart soft and full of so much joy. Putting this on my favorite list. Well done.
