When Push Comes to Shove

by Forever Hers   Nov 2, 2013

You turn your back on me
And yet, I am the one who betrayed you;
Do you not see the person in the mirror,
The stranger who possessed someone so dear to me?
You turn around in an instant
And accuse me of rumors, lies;
Do you see me as the person they paint me out to be
Or the girl you've known for six years?
You scream profanity, it rains down on me like broken glass
Tearing our friendship to shreads
As I watch you spit on its bloody remains
And tell me to jump off a cliff.
When push comes to shove,
I obey your wishes;
I walk to our secret place
And dive over the edge,
Flying through the air and hoping
You are happy
With killing the innocent girl
You once held so near.
