Dear John

by ZinaZonic   Nov 14, 2013

A giggle and a smile so wide
that's how you made me feel inside
The day I turned up on the sand
Fear faded as I held your hand

You returned home after two weeks
Afghan had suddenly become so bleak
A 'Dear John' letter I held in hand
A tear from cheek fell upon the sand

I read the letter reluctantly
Reading words I did not wish to see
A girls worst feeling when on tour
Your feelings had changed, that's for sure

The year I've had was hard you see
Each step you were here with me
But now the pain I've felt before
Has now returned and is much more

A message expecting me to be
A friend of yours but cant you see
You broke my heart in this foreign land
Your letter now burns upon the sand

My friends they saw the tears I cried
They stood firmly by my side
Unlike you, you caused the pain
Now my heart will never be the same

I'm currently on tour in afghan and my then gf decided to end our relationship in a 'Dear John' kind of fashion.
my feelins about the situation.
