R.I.P.

by Owner of an Untamed Heart   Jan 31, 2014

Rest in peace, my most prized possession
It shall remain in pieces
Not only has it died from the lies
But from the lessons that life teaches
Calls sent straight to voicemail
Messages still unanswered
I glance at the pictures for the last time
And then watch the flame become a dancer

Abandoned with loneliness and despair
I think of all the times in the dark
Painting a picture of how perfect it could've been
I remember once again that I loathe art
Even though I promised that it wouldn't
The war left me questioning your love
If I had all the things the perfect wife had
Explain how it still wasn't enough

Rest in peace, my most prized possession
Its debt will stay on your doorstep
Its ghost will haunt your dreams
Its whispers will echo in your head
I pray that its blood will never wash off
I hope when you swallow that guilt, you choke
For destroying the most important part of me,
For assuming I would take it as some sick joke
