An Alternative Route

by Smaccams   Feb 4, 2014

Shall we pave our own road together,
And stray from the ones that run through life
deteriorated?

I know you would rather travel these nights on a proved lane.
But these rolling hills are ever so inviting.

We can walk along side by side trampling
the ground
in each
step,
Just to prove that
you don't need to harmonize
with the rest of the flock
to get somewhere.

And if you feel the dark catching onto your shoulder -
let it catch you.
So I can prove to you how you strike the embers in my brown eyes
Like the sunlight during the day.

Then you'll be safe.
