The Price Of Peace

Do I let go,
And let myself fall,
To the voices that scream,
That scream and call?

To the fingers that claw,
And the hands that reach,
That rip me apart,
Just to hear me screech?

Do I give in to the eyes,
That pierce my soul?
That freeze my heart?
And remind me I'm not whole?

Do I let darkness overpower me?
As it did once before?
When it tore apart my sanity,
And left me at deaths door?

Should I welcome death,
In a warm embrace?
Say hello with a smile?
And let him kiss my face?

Maybe I should join the others,
I should just let go,
I'll stay broken like them,
But finally, peace I'll know.
