Bruised

Her heart beat so loudly
that it tore through
the eardrums of God

Her fingernails were so sharp
that with a single slash
she'd write hatred on the moon

Her kicks were so hard
that the shock waves reached
my stomach through castle walls

Her hands were so strong
that she could not hold anything
without it being crushed

Her strength was so fleeting
that her mind committed suicide
every time she held her breath

Her love was so strong
that whenever I held her
my kindness started to slip away

Yet, here I remain
with the aches of a bruised heart,
and eyes that bleed
