Friend or Foe?

by Lemon Squeezy   Feb 28, 2014

Well acquainted since you were a child
I'm the reason your reputation was wild.

Wrath is my kin and malice my twin
I camp in your heart deeply rooted in.

My goal is to harm and to viciously hurt
I see no error in spades of emotional dirt.

My chariot, your tongue wicked and vile
Led by venomous words bridled in guile.

Like slowest poison my presence corrupts
All turns to fiery ash when e'er I erupt.

Through the plains of emotion I violently rip
Like a tornado's wind I twist and I tip.

Within my wake lies only destruction,
No one can change that, for I take no instruction.

I fill the mind with murderous thoughts
And strangle the thinker with a noose carefully taut.

My name is Anger I'm cruel and terribly unkind
Once I've been found I'm hard to un-find.

From my fields of deception bitterness is gleaned,
First I'm your friend but soon I'm a fiend.

A friend to so many and a foe to so few,
Which of the two, I now ask, am I to you?
