Cold Hands

Soft looks the skin of this memory's tissue.
Is it you that these shuttered eyes dare shine light upon?
Are you something I remember?

In this mirror of faith and regret,
I could only be playing myself once again.
I haven't spent time with you in a while -
So I suppose I miss you.

All those fragile paper hearts you have crafted inside,
Only left you with paper cuts that have bled raw on the outside.

It's nice to see how you've grown
Past all the mistakes and blemishes in your life,
Into Someone beautiful and wholesome.

I would love to feel you once again and breathe in the life you exhale
From those happy smiles you always would share,
As you pondered upon the thoughts of striped kittens and meaningless jokes.
Perhaps you could come back for me?
I know your life in the stars of His glowing eyes must be phenomenal - but I need you here.
And I know it might seem a daunting task to reach down past the clouded skies and give me a brief
Moment
Of joy and reassurance -

And that you're still here.
