Song of Soul

by Sammib   Mar 25, 2014

If my soul had a voice, what would it say?
I wondered all night if you could hear it that day.
How it ebbed and flowed with your glorious tune
And longingly watched you when leaving to soon.

If my soul had a voice, what would it say?
Let it all go and let the chips fall as they may.
Soulful fingers that sweetest harmonies play
A torture so profound it brings only dismay.

If my soul had a voice, what would it say?
For just this single sight I demanded we stay
Your lips sang the words that only my heart knew
Engraved in my mind as bitter sweet truth.

If my soul had a voice, what would it say?
Everything it seems takes my breath away
Unknowingly following every one of your notes
Now I stand stranded held captive by this host

If my soul had a voice, what would it say?
How the blackest of fear is on utter display
Searching for answers that are buried somewhere
Maybe I could hear it if I just held you near.

If my soul had a voice, what would it say?
Impossible understanding if it was all kept at bay
Reading each moment like classical chords
I find myself walking a jagged edged sword

If my soul had a voice, what would it say?
The beauty of it all in a majestic array.
When the colour of passion is lead by a song
Then howcome I feel like its still all wrong.

This is a great write, I really enjoyed reading this. and wish I hadn't used all of my nominations so that I could nominate this.

    The only error I found was this;
And longingly watched you when leaving to soon.

I do believe you mean to say; too soon.

Otherwise, fantastic write, although a sad one.
