Cold and wet as it drips down
Seeping and soaking deep inside
Churning quickly at nauseating speed
Intoxicating fumes rising like a tide

So slow, it's hard to really notice
Black like tar, white like light
Confusing to the very eyes
That behold it in all its sight

Consuming each cell like a virus
Over and under as it slowly flows
Hotter than a hundred burning fires
Colder than the coldest snow that blows

Everything it touches starts to rot
Crumbling self-control like tooth decay
Each fresh breath taken in
Almost instantly gets sucked away

It has finally consumed you entirely
A deadly concoction of truths and lies
This poison found its way to your heart
Where everything good stays and dies

I can feel it reaching out to me
Calling, craving, wanting more
Look at what you have now become
Ruined and rotten to the very core

Cold and wet as it drips down
Seeping and soaking deep inside
Now in me is where this will stay
Waiting for the next rising tide...
