Love on the Assembly Line

by Kia Calli   Jun 1, 2014

His opening sequence, puts me on the defence,
the guard is up
A few dates, that's all it takes,
he's gone
Too soon he realised, what lies behind my eyes,
alone again
How hard it must be, to be seen with me,
better off alone
Sadness strikes, I'm on the hike,
keep searching
Number two comes along, this doesn't feel wrong,
hurt again
How much can I try, to continue this lie,
not ready for a man
Try to make it on my own, be the queen of my throne,
progress
Add another to the mix, that will make it six,
forget those in-between
Will this one stick, I know what makes him tick,
result
He likes me, how bad could that be,
I'm bored
Give up the search, rest on my perch,
easier said than done
I feel like a fool, needing to have them all,
stupid, pointless and hard to define
a waste of time
but that is what love is like on the assembly line.

Not bad, a little forced at the end but not by much. I like how they were each numbers. :) Great Job
