Desire

by Kia Calli   May 12, 2014

Like trying to push start a car
like trying to ignite a fire
like trying to catch a train
I feel this burning desire

but the car wont start
the fire wont light
and the train wont stop

however deep it runs
however much I feel it
a prevention arises, stopping me from getting near it

I can see my goal
I can smell my success
I can touch my glory
and taste my happiness

I can hear the applause
I feel it in my heart
I just need that push
to make my car start

my mind is ready
my body is not
my heart is heavy
and soon it will stop

I feel the rush
I feel the pain
I feel the incessant struggle
to stop the gain

like a car that wont start
it messes up your day
your life and well being
will be in another's to play

like trying to push start a car
like trying to ignite a fire
it takes more than one try
and that's what you call, desire.
