A Trip Inside

by FELTON PHILLIPS   Jun 9, 2014

Looking inside my mind I saw something that made me pause but I did not weep
I looked around not sure what I would find, what memories I should keep
I saw so many things; some things that made me smile
Yet there were others I wish to leave in the things forgotten pile
The mind is very special; it can take you on a ride
Through the peaks and valleys of one's life, like the ebb and flow of a tide
If you see me just sitting, with a blank stare and a smile
Do not get bothered or worried; just let me sit for a while
You see I am on a journey traveling through my mind
Visiting the past and dreaming of the future, imagining what I might find
Just allow me these few moments to take in all the sights
Who knew a trip inside my head could be such a delight.

The mind can be a truly wonderful thing, taking us on a wonderful journey. Crazy yet beautiful all the same, you wrote it well.
