As I feel as I lay on the Grass

by Everlasting   Jun 12, 2014

As I feel as I lay on the grass,
As I feel as I mown the lawn,
It's as I feel when I study hard.
The grass grows tall
And many bugs creep in
I don't want to sit
Nor to walk through it
But once I mow the lawn,
I first feel lazy and the mower feels heavy
Yet I push and push
until the grass is short
Until I sweat the hard work
Into a relaxing mode
Then as I feel as I lay on the grass
Is as I feel as I mown the lawn
Just as I feel as I study hard.

Luce. I love this poem a lot. Its so simplistic yet the message and imagery is fantastic. I loved that you put this in the nature category as well. I think you pinpointed exactly how people while lying in tall grass. It can make you feel uncomfortable at times. I truly loved the wording you used as well. Being in grass makes me feel like it is summer time and I can see the sweat and the sun on your face pushing the mower. I don't really think this has a metaphor at all. And it doesn't need to I don't think.

I think the message if the poem is if you want to feel rewarded you have to do hard work and this is a perfect example. You wanted to lie in the grass but it was too tall so you fixed the problem by mowing. And after that you can lay in the shade and relax. Wonderful and simple!!
