Courageously Crazy

by Chelsey   Jun 14, 2014

I came to write about love and how the absence of it makes us
do stupid things, but I heard the presence of it say "likewise".
It made me question if love was even a winning emotion; if
we are never sane with or without it, if our actions are driven
wild in and out of it, how do we survive in the chaos of it?

The answer revealed itself in the form of a quiz, yet true or
false didn't exist...and multiple choice were all the same.
The only logical explanation was
A). You
B). You
C). You
D). All of the above.

Your name was such a bold response to my question of love.

And I'm dealing with the typical talk of town, "be careful and take
it slow", but this isn't driving school, I'm not a student, and my
traffic light is telling me "go".

The questioning my darling was all just a ruse, misleading me to believe
love just shouldn't be used. But when the worst of you brought out
the best of me, when your laugh was a maze I couldn't get out
of, and when your voice led me to believe that words were a blanket
to cover me with security... I knew.

I knew the insanity love brings can only be understood-
By those crazy enough to give it.

And to those courageous enough to receive it.

Oh my goodness Chels, I cannot believe this has no comments.

This poem is so raw, but just so real to life and what we can gain from it.

The passion in every line really stands out, your heart is in every word and it is like your message is for everyone to see and hear, to tell everyone that love is a gift and so take and give it while you have the chance.

I adore your ending, of having to be courageous to receive it, this is very true, sometimes loving someone else is so much easier than accepting it back, this would mean opening up and exposing your heart to be hurt. But it is a risk we all take in life.

I really enjoyed this and was nice to read your work again.
