A Magical Night

by EmMa   Jul 5, 2004

It was so beautiful
Such a magical night
Fireworks colored the sky
And the stars were shining bright
Slowly he took my hand
He held it firm and tight
I glanced over to him
My smile I couldn’t fight
He looked at me and gently whispered
“You look wonderful tonight”

My face began to glow
The brightest shade of red
My smile grew twice as big
In response to what he said
But then I heard a boom
I fell and hit my head
I opened my eyes to realize
That I was in my bed
Then on my cheek I felt
A quick tear that I had shed

It was all a dream
The most amazing lie
Wishing that it was real
My heart let out a silent cry
Deep down inside I wonder if
He would give this love a try
The answer I tried to find
As I observed the evening sky
With colorful flames lighting up the night
In celebration of the 4th of July

Mesmerizing the eyes as they gleam high above
An abundance of colors like red, green, orange, and blue
On such a magical night
Where dreams come true
People falling in love
And old loves renew
With all my heart I make a wish
As the shooting stars flew
Wishing that while I’m here missing him
He’s there missing me too
