Little girl

by Jackie   Sep 12, 2014

Once there was little girl, who didn't know wrong from right
You could hear her in her sleep, you could hear her crying at night
No matter what she did, she felt useless and redundant
Left alone and shattered, locked up in her room called dungeon
She tried to give her best to satisfy her father
But it was worthless, he never saw her as his daughter
As she grew older, the pain grew weaker
Not because it stopped, no it became sweeter
Pain was all she knew, happiness a foreign emotion
Since it was his task to treat her with demotion
She knew she had to hide what was boiling deep inside
Because no one would understand, no one could take away her pride
With every punch and every hit her tears slowly began to dry
She became colder and stronger, the urge to fight in her died
Knowing only pain and neglect, she couldn't trust a soul
So she learned to deal with it and kept it under control
As she grew wiser and older, she experienced a difference
A difference in other people's lives, she had to keep her distance
She could write a book about the things she has seen
The things she has been through, she could put her life on screen
Everyone would look at her and watch her with eagles eyes
So she'd rather stay hidden and feed Everyone with made up lies
Her wish is to make people see what lies beneath her flesh
How badly she is seeking an end to life caused by death
But something is keeping her from taking that big step
Her belief in god keeps her going, keeps her climbing from the depth
If she could just cut herself open and tear out her own heart
She would be free of pain and sorrow, meaning a brand new start
Unfortunately that is no option, for she would bleed and die
Instead she should start talking and find inner strength with time
Her life to her is meaningless and without a doubt worth dirt
This is what her father told her, aimed at her heart to hurt
He never thought of his consequences nor did he even care
At night she sits on her bed and asks god for help in her prayer

She knows this won't last forever
One day she will feel better
But until that day comes
She will have to succumb
To her dads brutality
and realize that her destiny
lies in the hands of her enemy
if she doesn't hold her head up high
and raise her fist up in the sky
and loosen the strings he holds so tight
and finally begins to fight!
