Innocence

There is this thing about innocence.
It comes from a look,
a smile,
or even a tone of voice.

Though, in reality,
things may not be as they seem.

The sweetest angel may be dripping in darkness.
While the darkest of them all could be in the brightest of smiles.

And honey,
Innocence can be destroyed in a matter of seconds......So BEWARE.

    ^ Completely agree. Your personality and voice popped out from the page. Especially with the sarcastic "honey". Small things like that can really add spark to the poem. This poem reads simply yet has a relatable message and I like in its simplicity, it caused me to nod my head. We all have a dark side others may not see.

    I love that your personality came out so clearly in this piece. You say Oh honey in every conversation you have and I could completely hear you while I read this one. Nice job there. I also like the style and format choices, they work really well together.
