Truth Bites

by Baby Rainbow   Feb 27, 2015

The bitter wind bites my cheeks,
reminding me that I am still alive.

So many paths I could have taken,
sometimes I regret the one I'm on.

I could have drank a hundred bottles
to drown away the memories of his touch.

I could have taken a thousand pills
to peacefully sleep away the lingering pain.

I could have grown a heart as cold as his,
feeling nothing for anything that exists.

But the bitter wind bites my cheeks,
reminding me that I am still alive,
and my heart is not yet numb.
