Yesterday's tomorrow (quatern with a twist)

by Sandstorm   Mar 6, 2015

I promised tomorrow the moon and the stars,
To waste the day chasing cars.
All that had to be done,
Forgotten in the face of fun.

To laugh away the afternoon,
I promised tomorrow the stars and moon.
With not a care in the world I was free,
Blind to fate looming over me.

Another day full of diversions,
Work regarded with aversion.
I promised tomorrow the moon and the stars,
Surely that would leave no scars?

Alas what happened; where did the time go?
Been through life with nothing to show.
Allowed it all to pass me by; too soon,
I promised tomorrow the stars and moon.
