I'm only Human

by Ezra   Jun 11, 2015

You say I'm strong but you've yet to see the tears I shed
You say I'm brave but hands tremble
You say I'm made from stone or ice but stone cracks and ice melts

You're so busy with seeing what's not there
You're so busy with believing in myth
You're so busy with assuming too much

You've never see the tears that stain my eyes
You'll never see the scares on my heart
You'll never see the trembling of my hands

You say I'm strong but you don't see behind my mask
You say I'm forged with iron
You say I'm shaped from stone
You say I'm carved from ice

You'll never see this Iron mold crack
You'll never see this sculpture shatter
You'll never see this ice mask melt

You say I'm strong
You say I'm brave
You say I'm forged with iron
You say I'm shaped from stone
You say I'm carved from ice

You're so busy with seeing what's not there
You're so busy with believing in myth
You're so busy with assuming too much

You'll never see the sorrow behind my fury
You'll never see the pain behind my anger
You'll never see the tears behind my smiles

I'm not forged with Iron, as I shed too many tears
I'm not shaped from stone, as I'm too broken to stand so strong
I'm not carved from ice, as my heart is too soft

Please open your eyes and see I'm not myth
Please open your eyes and see I'm not strong
Please open your eyes and see I'm only human

I'm not strong or brave
I'm not stone or ice
I'm not iron or myth

I'm only human

Please open your eyes, I'm only human
