Spyglass

by ephemera   Jun 13, 2015

There are days when I imagine my life in parallel
You softly writing at your desk and I at the piano
Drunk on the raptures of decadence and love
As the sun rises and falls into the sea

There were days when I longed for you
When my life knew nothing but the purest of emotions
And I could do nothing but give in
As you wrote for me

And there are days when I remember I am now the queen
As this crown I wear on my brow bears me down with reality
That we were nothing but a mere dream
A sighting of land far out at sea
