Lost Path

by TheMask   Jun 25, 2015

I've been lost
With no hope of finding my way
As I walk this forest of buildings
All I hear is the howling screams of despair from my own heart
I have given up I can no longer move forward
I sit their motionless in the died of night

I close my eyes only to open them and see the sun
The sun that has been lost from me
The day beckons forth new strength to keep moving
I no longer hear the sad tormented screams from within me
I'm no longer lost I've found my path

I'm awaken from my sleep by a cackling laughter from death himself
I stand up and look towards the moon and raise my hand
I close it in a fist and declare I will replace it with a sun
The horizon will beckon forth light one day
The nightmare will end and I will be there to see day break

I will find my way, I won't allow myself to be taken by death
I will not become one of the screams I hate
I will not lose to the despair in my heart
I will walk on until I find my path
I won't give up now
No not until I live my dreams of a warm day drenched in sunlight

I may no longer remember what that warmth feels like
I may only know the sounds of fear and despair
I may not even remember what the sun looks like
But I won't give up until I remember and know everything I've dreamed of

If I don't give up what makes you think you can
What sets as apart from each other
If I can look forward then so can you
Because I've been here longer then anyone I've known more pain then anyone
So don't give up don't lose heart all because you've forgotten
Just make sure to embrace it more when you see it again
