Am I asking for too much
Because I want affection?
To want someone to love me
And provide protection?
I'm not asking for the world
Nobody's perfect
The standards that I have
Is anyone worth it ?
Or is it because
I won't allow anyone's effect
To run over me
With their disrespect?
I've become so shattered
From the pain I've endured
I want to be proven wrong
And my heart to be cured
I just want your honesty
And to be sincere
I truly enjoy your company
When your presence is near
I only ask that you love me
With respect in return
My trust doesn't come easy
But is worth it once you earn
If God willing
He will find a day
For someone to break me free
