Evacuation Complete

I wish it didn't matter
that love does not protect you
when darkness sleeps on the streets
of your road to recovery...

but it matters greatly!

Memories I can't escape
consume my ability to trust,
to love, to live,
and so the only option
my plagued eyes can see,
is to unstitch everyone
who ever became attached to my heart,

because where there is no love
there is no loss -

and once my heart is empty,
my evacuation can then be completed.
