The Wave of Love

by Everlasting   Jul 30, 2015

At the Shore . . .

There was a wave, a tiny wave
that came to greet my day
when seagulls flew atop my head
And sand got 'tween my toes

This tiny wave was clear and strong
it came to reach my feet
from where I sat beside a rock;
( curled up into a ball)

Then just like the wave came to me
It also ebbed into the sun
It let me see beyond the spot
from where I sat beside that rock

And as I saw into the sun
I hugged and kissed my knees
as winds pushed me to stand up
from where I sat beside that rock

But I was frail, too scared
I wrapped my arms around the rock
then seagulls pulled me from my hair
in an attempt to get me to stand up

But I did not respond
my eyes were blinded by the sun
I held tighter to the rock
Yet there it was, again, that tiny wave

at the Shore...

-----

That tiny wave of love
that came to reach my feet
to help me see beyond the spot
from where I sat beside that rock

---

That tiny wave of love

that calls me at the shore

to go and swim

onto the sea

of love

----

Yet I hold tighter to the rock.

The imagery was beautiful. And I think the meaning here is about saying hello for the first time. The wave is a metaphor towards a person maybe? But the repatition works well here to me. I agree with the other commenter in saying that the flow was great.

I love this and love the repetition employed throughout. Imagery and flow are excellent.
