Corruption

by TheMask   Sep 24, 2015

You're in hell
All sides, your empire is crumbling to dust
Faster then Rome
Yet slower then Greece

You have no one left to turn for help but me
The one person to save you and what is left
You come and ask, beg, grovel before me
I lift my finger and make it so

Your force stops eroding
Starts to blossom
Faster than the Mongol
Bigger than the British

Yet at the height of your empire
You become like the rest
Crazed for power

You set your fangs toward me
The one who helped the wretched soul in pain
The spirit tormented in hell
Who pulled you from the burning pit

Through your games of deceit
You plundered my halls
Ransacked my villages
Killed my people

Yet I never stopped smiling at you
Never once paused to think
Never did my love cease

Armies at my capital
Soldiers in my castle
Your blade at my neck
Not until then did I stop you

With tears forming
Mind clearing
Heart pained
I realized what a poison I was to you

I made you this way
I'm sorry
My love corrupted you
My dearly beloved
