Broken Bond

I took your words
and let them comfort my insecurities.
You promised me that our journey would be worthwhile,
and the path would open opportunities along the way.

I would have done anything to keep you there,
to keep your love wrapped around me.

What a bond to break,
but it was getting too hard to try,
and the pain of memories only remind me
that I gave you my heart,
and trusted you to protect it.

And never in a million years
did I ever think
I would become broken by you!

    Stanza 2 is it supposed to be I would of or have done (im bad at grammar so maybe I'm horribly wrong lol.

    This is a sad write. Trusting someone only to have your trust destroyed is always hard.
    This poem is very relatable to a lot of people, who cant relate to being in love and then you find out that the memories you have are destroyed and turned into pain.

    Also.You can tell you miss them because of the way you say you would have done anything for them
