My default setting
never seems to fade,
as every time I get close
to someone I love,
I cannot let them in.

But smile precious Angel,
for you have won,
because I promise you my heart,
if you stand by me,
and never let me go.

You have given me
more than promises,
you have shown me
shades of summer,
even though we are in winter.

I am giving you
the adoption papers to my heart,
which not many people have,
and I will never take that contract away,
and on that you will just have to trust me,
until time proves
that we were brought together for a reason,

and we will stay together for always,
even into the distant meadows of beyond.
