Repressed Love

by Dusty   Dec 1, 2015

If only you could see
you are attracted to me
our eyes meet,
and our spirits are complete,
society keeps us from fulfilling our desire,
our bodies perspire,
yearning for touch and affection
but, avoidance is our only protection
we have to pretend,
or else we will be tempted to "sin"
perhaps to pretend not only keeps us from sin
but prevents our love from coming to an end

That's an interesting way of putting it. In a way, I wouldn't exactly blame society but then again society plays a role, though ha! I don't know what to say lol

    Welcome to poems and quotes

Your poem spoke to me. I also wouldn't call it "sin" but after all that's what it is called. May love won't end.
