Mystery

by TheMask   Dec 6, 2015

It's cold
This frozen, innocent snow I lay on
As my poisonous blood drips out
Staining its purity

I lift my head up
Through the pain, I see you
Walking away
Leaving me alone
Not looking back
Because there is no next time

Lost of energy
I only stare at this sky
This glassy, empty sky
Just like the sun, you stole the stars as well

But the sun is gone
No more shadows
To hid your sins
The truth suddenly changes it all
It all becomes so clear and now
you leave, in his arms
while I lay here, bleeding out

Sometimes I wonder what's beyond
Empty promises, shattered dreams, this glassy sky, you and me
But as long as we're alive you will be apart of me
Because our broken halves they intertwine
Coming together, never staying, but always coming back
Creating a wonder filled mosaic
Of blood, tears, misery, us

Making this mystery
Of you walking forward
and of me chasing after your shadows

If I were you I wouldn't use the same word (innocence) twice in the same stanza, especially with the overall goal of that stanza being scene setting not meaning.

Otherwise, nicely written and I'm sorry you're so upset at the moment.

Also, on an upside, I love the wording in the end of the piece.
