Locking up the secrets

by Lindsey   Jul 7, 2004

She comes to school covered in bruises
She tries to act like nothings wrong
But her false front shows through
The tears that sting behind her deep
Blue eyes she tries to stay strong
Keeping the secrets locked up inside
But everyone knows that he was
Drinking again last night like so
Many times before every night
She cries herself to sleep hoping
That today was the last day
She would ever have to face
And she can't help but wonder
Whether he still loves her or not
He use to be her hero
Supporting her with everything
She pursued but now all he is a
Stranger disguised in her fathers body
She wishes she could be his little girl again
And not just his punching bag
