I feel so weak for believing you
every time you told me that
this would be the last time.
You saw all of the warning signs,
I know you did - I made sure you did!
Yet, you still ignored them,
claiming self pity of not having
enough strength to leave him.
But what about me?
What about the child
you swore to God that you would love
and protect for all eternity?
And I wonder what you truly know,
and what you always did,
or, if you were always in the know
and part of his games all along?
