Whiteness, beauty and intelligence

by Yakari Gabriel   Jan 3, 2016

I wonder if when you
were a little girl, your mother would
sit you on the floor
comb your silky gold locks and tell
you stories about how privileged
little girls that look like you were
wonder, if she told you,
that for you the whole world was
an open door.
wonder if she looked into
your deep ocean blue eyes
and thank god you came,
out that way
told you,
that you could do
everything and anything.
I wonder if that's the reason
you went out there and got it
all.
