Breaking Hurts

What did I do for you to hurt me like this?
I can't believe the way you broke me down,
after I finally let my heart become unguarded.

I feel like I've been broken into,
and all of my trust and hope has been robbed -
stealing everything from me,
but leaving behind a broken soul,
forever scarred by you.

I thought that I'd been hurt before,
but after what you did to my heart,
it feels like my whole world is broken,
every single thing is turning black.

And out of all the blackness I have survived,
no one has ever left me in this much darkness.

    Hello Saffie,

    I think what I found particularly sad about this piece is the fact that - as you acknowledge - you have survived a massive amount of darkness and yet, here you are again in the darkest place you have ever been. "No one has ever left me in this much darkness."
    My only suggestion is "broken in two" rather than "broken into"
