This probably isn't the smartest thing to do,
But since last we spoke,
everyday I think about you,

Your smile so perfect and eyes like a goddess,
Lips so soft I could sleep on for eternity,
All of these are some of the reasons I can't get you out my head,
But also reasons our relationship ended in dread,

I only wanted you but there were going to be some hurdles in our way,
Telling my family about you, taking you places my friends go too,
I couldn't do that to you,
I couldn't keep you a secret,

So I distance myself from you,
Hoping my heart you wouldn't keep it,
Our recent issue really wasn't a big deal to me,
But I used it as my window of opportunity,

Pretty much saying we shouldn't see each other anymore but that's not what I truly wanted,
I wanted to just lay we you and tell you it will be okay,
Tell you I'm here and I will until my last day,

You deserve better than what I can give you this I'm sure,
I can't be stringing you along hoping your love will endure,
I'm sorry I ever hurt you and I'm sorry we can't be,
But every time I see your face, I can only imagine what life would have been like with you and me.
