Where did the love go?

by TheDarkCloudBehindthePoet   Aug 20, 2019

I remember a time,
before all the tattoos,
the muscle,
the silver-tongue,
before Love......
............,

When all I had,
to look forward to,
was school,
and hanging,
with my bestfriend,
on the weekends,

Life was much,
more simpler,
back then,

I didn’t have to worry,
about someone,
breaking me,
down,
to where I can’t look,
into a mirror and,
love,
the person,
that was looking,
back at,
me,

Before Depression.......,
...........,
...........,
...........,

It’s funny how,
we let people we love,
close to our,
hearts,
and allow them to,
take pieces,

So whatever they,
say or how they act,
towards us,
can change who,
we are entirely,

It takes about
a month,
to start a,
habit,

So imagine,
being in a dysfunctional,
relationship,
for years,

From all the nights,
you cried,
yourself,
to sleep,

To still believing in,
Love,
and believing,
things will get better,

But they don’t,
and before you,
know it,
you’re molded,
into someone new,

Someone who hates,
their imperfections,
shuts off emotionally,
can never truly trust,
anyone,
and who became so,
blinded,
that they can’t,
see how beautiful they
truly are,

Some people are,
happy with how,
things turned out,

Needing the rain,
in order to,
blossom,

I am,
not,
one,
of,
those,
voices,

I am glad that you are here and see you write. I also have a history of suicide but I have come a long way. You are doing a good job expressing yourself and there is people out there who sincerely care. We on this site care. Hugs to you
