Bloodmoon I - Dusk

by Kakera   Feb 11, 2016

It left too soon.

Spring comes closer,
yet I dare not approach it alone;
what was the purpose, the meaning,
behind seeking truths within ourselves?

Because all I have left
is the shame on my face
that I can't mask with empty smiles
illuminated by a blood-tinged moon.

I dream, and I dream,
every day, constantly,
but find myself restless
and never at peace.

Sleep eludes me,
and the deep crimson
that stares at me from the sky
annihilates serenity.

Because it left too soon,
the promise of a better future did.
It left too soon.

You, especially, you...
You left too soon.

Forgive me.

Thank you. It's unfinished though. I haven't touched the core of it yet. It's a prelude if anything. A prelude to what I think will probably become three poems at the end. There is so much within this poem that I have said without explaining or explored, and there is profoundness left mysterious because I haven't gone deeper into the theme yet.

I hope you will like the rest of it, when it is finally complete.
