In Your Dreams:

by Scott Cole   Feb 18, 2016

Today your memory
Visited me again,
Crossed my path
But within.

You took me on
Another date,
You got there early
For goodness sake.

Gave me chocolates
Gave me flowers,
And a smile
That lasted hours.

We went out to eat
You bought dinner,
Pulled out my chair
With just a finger.

We had some wine
By candlelight,
That little drive
Into the night.

You drove us to
Our favorite spot,
A perfect view
A snapshot.

You stopped the car
Atop the cliffs,
One more check
On our bucket list.

Your hands roaming
So were your lips,
But it was cool
Because you were hip.

Lots of grins
On top of smiles,
Life is good
When you compile.

We watch the sky
Near and far,
Like lighting bugs
In a jar.

But it was you
That turned my head,
Made me think
Three moves ahead.

You took me home
Graced my door,
Swept both my feet
Right off the floor.

That front porch light
A wish and a kiss,
You pulled me
Into your abyss.

So here we are now
Just you and me,
Another little visit
In your dreams.
